Checking Out Home2 Suites by Hilton

Even when I’m traveling for work, I can’t help but take notice of my surroundings to determine options for my family vacations. This trip, I am trying out a new hotel brand, Home2 Suites. Even though I nearly always stay in Hilton brand hotels, I had yet to try out this branch of the family.

According to their website, Home2 Suites are “all about being connected, being eco-conscious, and being the kind of place you can kick back and be yourself. So whether you’re looking to unwind or power up, if you’re on your own or with family and friends, Home2 Suites is more than just another place to stay. IT’S YOUR HOME2.”

IMAG2012So, could it be my Home2? I have to say, I am loving it. I just have a studio suite since I’m staying by myself, but my family could be comfortable even in the studio. It has a queen bed and a sofa bed that can be separated by a privacy curtain. The bathroom only has a shower with no tub, but since my son is older, we could make do.

IMAG2010My studio has a nearly full kitchen. It has a small, but not compact refrigerator, a microwave, a sink, a dishwasher, a Keurig coffee maker, a toaster, minor cookware, and table settings for six. There is a sign on the counter stating that they will deliver a portable cooktop stove upon request. Basically, it has everything but an oven. Now, we’d have to sit at the desk or on the couch to eat, but at least there is an option to make light meals here.

IMAG2009My favorite thing about the room? The number of outlets. I usually travel with a power strip because there is no way to power everything when traveling with my family. That won’t be a problem here. There are two open outlets plus an outlet on the lamp on one side of the bed and one open outlet on the other side, there are three open outlets in the kitchen, one next to the couch, four at the computer desk, and three more high on the wall by the television.

It also didn’t break the bank. In fact, the main reason I’m staying here instead of the conference hotel is because it was $70 per night cheaper.

I would definitely stay in another Home2 Suites whether traveling alone or with my family.
