When I showed my son a photo from one of our recent visits to Plaza Inn at Disneyland, I asked him what he thought of it. He immediately responded, “I love that place!” When I asked him why, he elaborated with two reasons…
“I like the food a lot. There are a lot of different options, and I really like the Mickey waffles and the bacon.”
I guess it should be noted that we always eat at Plaza Inn for breakfast. The breakfast is served cafeteria-style with hot items behind glass and served to you by a cast member. Hot items include scrambled eggs, made-to-order omelets, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, French toast, and Mickey waffles. There is also a cold item section that is self-serve. Cold items include sliced fruits and melons and various pastries.
“There are so many characters!”
No review of Plaza Inn would be complete without mentioning the characters. It seems to me there are more characters at Plaza Inn than any other dining experience at Disneyland. Plus, there is a large variety. Minnie Mouse is a staple because it’s officially billed as Minnie & Friends, but we’ve also seen Alice and the Mad Hatter, Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother, Chip and Dale, Captain Hook, Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, and even Goofy’s nephew Max.
One final tip from mom – Make reservations for the earliest breakfast time. Not only will you get into the park early, we have found that we are often one of few tables in the restaurant and get even more amazing experiences with the characters like the one pictured below.
